A motorcyclist has died at the scene of a collision with a car near Cardrona.
Police said the crash happened at about 3pm on Cardrona Valley Road.
A section of the road is closed off, and diversions are in place.
Also in the South Island, there has been a crash on the Rakaia bridge that is being cleared.
Traffic is stacked on either side of the bridge but the road has reopened.
