The complainant told Wellington District Court earlier this week that the defendant made several inappropriate comments to her before kissing her as she was prepared for a medical procedure in January 2015.

However, other health professionals who were in the examination room told the court they had not seen anything like that occur.

Judge Allan Roberts suppressed his reasons for aborting the trial.

The defendant, whose name and details are suppressed, was remanded on bail for a new trial date to be set next month.
