Police are still searching for a man who was the subject of an Armed Offenders Squad callout in Napier last night.
Residents of Bristol Street in the suburb of Tamatea were evacuated and the road was blocked by armed officers at both ends for several hours.
Police said it was a planned operation to flush out Shawn Harding, for whom they have an outstanding warrant for arrest.
Officers cleared the property but did not find him.
Police said Mr Harding should not be approached and warned that he was dangerous.
