One person has died following a fatal crash involving two trucks near Christchurch.
Police said emergency services were alerted to the crash on Main South Road in Templeton about 7.30am.
They said the road was expected to be closed for several hours and traffic was being diverted.
The Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit and Serious Crash Unit are investigating.
