Police have confirmed the body found in a west Auckland forest is that of missing Auckland woman, Carissa Avison.

The 21-year-old was last seen late last month at a hunting and fishing store before she was dropped off in Muriwai.
Police recovered her body in Woodhill Forest on Wednesday night.
Her death has been referred to the Coroner.
