Machete attack victim recovers from surgery

A man whose hand was almost cut off in a machete attack in Dunedin is recovering from surgery.

The man was injured at a house in Taieri Mouth, south of the city, on Tuesday afternoon.

He was flown to Dunedin Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.

A 33-year-old man has been accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and has been remanded in custody until a court appearance in March.
