Police have released CCTV footage showing a vehicle going in an out of an Auckland quarry where a woman was attacked.
The woman had been out with friends in Ponsonby on Saturday night and said she did not recall anything from that time until she woke in the quarry being attacked.
Tests have been taken to determine whether she was drugged or stupefied.
Police said yesterday the woman, who was extremely traumatised, had been treated for serious gashes to her head and face and a broken thumb.
Footage shows the car going into the Riverhead quarry area next to a timber yard on Sawmill Road at 1:45am and speeding away at 2:01am.
Police said they are still trying to find a man seen talking to the woman outside the Mobil station on the corner of Ponsonby and Karangahape Roads earlier on Saturday evening.
