Tania Dalton has been remembered as a joyful, generous friend who touched many lives and was most passionate about her family.
The former Silver Fern collapsed while playing touch rugby, after suffering a ruptured aneurysm, and died last Wednesday aged 45.
A memorial service this afternoon on Auckland's North Shore heard tributes from her family, close friends, netballers and the family's priest.
Fellow former Silver Fern Bernice Mene said her friend, nicknamed "T-bag", was an incredible athlete and a fantastic team-mate.
"I will miss those calls too, and texts, road trips, cup of tea catch-ups. Tans always slightly late as she tried to pack so much in, came charging in with some baking, that beaming smile and a huge hug."
The Dalton family is setting up a charitable foundation in her name in support of sports training and development for underprivileged children.
Hundreds of people attended the memorial service, which was held at QBE Stadium.
