Two people are in a critical condition after a car crash in Taranaki overnight.
A ute carrying seven people crashed into a bank near Waitara at about 4.30am.
Two people suffered critical injuries and have been taken to hospital.
Due to the crash, diversions are in place at the intersections of State Highway 3 and Princess Street, and State Highway 3 and Devon Road.
Part of a main Waikato highway has also been closed after a truck and trailer rolled this morning.
Emergency services were called shortly before 6am after the 50-ton truck carrying produce crashed on State Highway 27, north of Tatuanui.
Fire service shift manager Jaron Phillips said the driver is being treated by ambulance staff.
