A 32-year-old man charged with attempted abduction and assault has been granted interim name suppression in the Porirua District Court.
Police yesterday arrested a man they believed tried to snatch a three-year-old girl in the suburb of Whitby.
The accused man, who did not appear in court today, has been remanded.
The next hearing of the case is expected next Tuesday.
