The pair broke in to the Trafalgar Street house at 3.45am, and after tying up the woman at knife point, demanded property from her.

Horowhenua Police said the men left the scene in the woman's car.

Acting Detective Sergeant Dave Wilson said she was understandably very shaken.

The woman had not been able to get a close look at the men during the robbery, he said.

Police are asking for sightings of a grey Nissan Murano recovered in the Levin area yesterday morning and are appealing for information.
