Both attacks happened near the University of Otago on Friday night.

A man in his 20s, with short dark hair and dark skin, assaulted two women between 8pm and 8.30pm at a house known as The Hospital.

He wore shorts and a T-shirt.

The second attack happened between 9.15pm and 9.30pm, when a man pushed over and assaulted a woman walking on Leith Way, towards UniCol student accommodation.

He was described as Pakeha, of medium build with long, dark, curly hair tied at the back.

Investigations into the incidents are continuing, but police say they have made no further progress.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kallum Croudis said the three victims were traumatised. Police were examining CCTV footage, he said.

The Otago University Students' Association said earlier it was concerned.

"This seems to be at the upper end of the scale. The areas in which they happened, you'd kind of expect them to be students. That street is right inside the student area."
