Adele's New Zealand promoters have given her a ticket to Saturday's show and Jetstar have booked her a new flight.

While close to 50,000 fans lapped up the artist's first ever New Zealand concert in Auckland on Thursday, Emma Miscall spent the night alone at a motel in Whanganui because Jetstar cancelled her flight.

Ms Miscall, who lives in Wellington, was to meet her mum, twin sister and her twin sister's partner at the concert.

She knew in advance she would be in New Plymouth for work yesterday, so, thinking forward, she booked a flight from there to Auckland when she bought her Adele ticket last year.

A few hours before her flight was due to leave, she got a text from Jetstar telling her it was cancelled.

It was too far for her to drive there and back from in time for work in Wellington today, and, yesterday, she gave up and started driving home - but only got as far as Whanganui because she was "angry".

She stayed there that night then drove back to start work this morning.

She told Checkpoint with John Campbell she was more than $750 out of pocket even though she was refunded her return tickets.

Ms Miscall said she'd had a rough couple of years and was looking forward to the concert.

"I just love her music ... and I really just wanted to see her live."

Since 2012 she had twice battled Hodgkin's lymphoma with chemotherapy and then a stem-cell transplant. She was in remission.

"I've always said if Adele ever came to New Zealand I would pay any amount of money to go.

"I got the best ticket, in [the] front row - and then I couldn't get there."

After Checkpoint spoke to her there was good news.

Adele's New Zealand promoters, Live Nation, gave her a ticket to Saturday's show and Jetstar booked her a new flight.
