A hunter who had been missing in the bush in Kāpiti has made his own way out.
The man, who is in his 40s, went missing at Reikorangi, a rural area just inland from Paraparumu, last night.
He was part of an experienced hunting party of seven people who were on a friend's property in the rural area, when he failed to meet up with the group.
Police said he walked out of the bush just before 1pm and was fine and well.
They said he was well equipped and had a small amount of food with him, and that his family are on their way to see him.
