A 24-year-old Queenstown man is in hospital with a suspected skull fracture after his head was stomped on in a street attack.

Police said the victim was assaulted outside the Hotel St Moritz at about 10.30pm last night and his attacker then ran towards Thompson Street.
Police want to hear from any witnesses or anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously in the area.
