A fisherman who went missing off the coast of Tonga has been found in the middle of the Pacific Ocean waving his paddles from a life-raft.
The New Zealand Rescue Co-ordination Centre said an Orion plane found the man at about 2pm today.
The missing fisherman made a call to his family at 6pm on Saturday evening, saying his boat's engine had failed, sparking an international search involving New Zealand.
Tongan authorities are sending a boat to where the man had been found, about 13km south-east of Tonga's Eua Island.
