A child has died after being hit by a truck in Gisborne.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Russell Street about 3pm.
A St John spokesperson confirmed the pedestrian hit by the truck was a child.
It sent two ambulances to the scene.
Cordons were in place at the intersections of Russell Street and Richardson Avenue, and Russell Street and Fox Street.
