Tankered water became available to residents of the Far North township of Te Kao on Wednesday after vandalism of a water pump station at the weekend left them without water.
All 86 households in the township were affected by the attack on the station in Doubtless Bay, which supplies water to the town.
A spokesperson for the Far North District Council says a new pump should be operating on Friday.
Full water supplies are expected to be fully restored at the weekend.
