Man charged with murder after death at south Auckland house

A 40-year-old man has been charged with murder after a body was found in a south Auckland house on Saturday night.

Police have also revealed the victim was 40-year-old Jima Shemaon Zaya of Papatoetoe.

His body was found by police at the Carruth Road address in Papatoetoe at about 7pm on Saturday.

Police and Victim Support services are working with his family.

The arrested man is due to appear in the Manukau District Court today.

Police still want to speak to two men who were present at the address when Mr Zaya was assaulted, and may have been in a red sedan vehicle.
