Police have released the name of the Northland road worker killed on Friday in a collision with a logging truck.
He was Selwyn Patrick Rewa, 51, of Whangarei.
The Fulton Hogan employee was driving a road-sweeper through roadworks on Otaika Valley Road when he was hit by a log truck travelling in the same direction.
The area was marked as a 30km/h zone.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the fatality.
