Students at Lincoln High School in Canterbury have returned to class after a comment by a student forced an evacuation this morning, police say.
Police said they were told earlier today that a student had made a threatening remark against the school, but the situation has since been resolved.
Those involved had been spoken to, they said.
The school said in a statement on Facebook that it had been given information to suggest a potential bomb threat.
"We contacted the police straight away who worked with us to ensure the safety of everyone. Students are now back in class."
The school is just outside Christchurch.
