Some buildings in Auckland have possibly combustible aluminium cladding but the precise number is unclear, Auckland Council says.

At least 79 people died when London's 24-storey Grenfell Tower became engulfed in flames on Wednesday.
The cause of the fire is not known, but there has been speculation that a type of aluminium composite panel, with a combustible plastic core, enabled the fire to quickly engulf the building.
Building and Construction Minister Dr Nick Smith has ordered major city councils to find out if there are high-rise blocks here with the panels.
In Auckland, the council said it had found fewer than 100 buildings that used various kinds of aluminium composite panels, but its investigation was not yet complete.
Spokesperson Ian McCormick said in some cases the panels were used as a small design feature, rather than cladding an entire building.
The council's report on the issue is several months away.
