Man killed in SH57 crash

A man died when a van carrying seven people rolled near the town of Shannon in Horowhenua.

Police believe the hire van was carrying tourists when it left State Highway 57 at 11am on Wednesday.

The vehicle was carrying seven men, including a passenger who died instantly.

However, none of the others required hospital treatment.

The Serious Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the cause.
