Four kayakers who sparked a search in the Hauraki Gulf off Waiheke have been found safe and well.

A police spokesperson said they were phoned by a concerned member of the public at 5.30pm, who had not seen the four people return.
But police said the Coastguard had found the four people, who were not on the water.
