Six vehicles have crashed in Central Otago's Kawarau Gorge this morning.
The crash happened near the Roaring Meg section of the gorge.
Police said one driver had to be cut from their vehicle by a fire rescue crew and was being treated by ambulance staff.
Other injured people have also been treated at the crash site.
Police said drivers should expect delays in the area.
They urged motorists to take care when approaching the end of passing bays and to remember to use the two-second rule.
The Roaring Meg Stream feeds the Kawarau River.
