Teens target three Hamilton petrol stations

12:34 pm on 16 August 2017

Two teenagers armed with a hammer and a tomahawk raided three Hamilton petrol stations in under an hour overnight.

Police said the two young men first stole money and cigarettes from a BP station in Frankton about 2.20am.

The pair then tried to burgle an unmanned Caltex station in Dinsdale before entering a BP station in Glenview and stealing more cigarettes about half an hour later.

The police said a white Nissan car was used in all three incidents and the teens smashed the glass of the front doors with their weapons.

They said while none of the staff in the petrol stations were physically harmed, it was very frightening.
