Fog clears after disrupting almost 50 flights at Auckland Airport

Fog at Auckland Airport that caused travel disruption this morning has lifted.

The fog delayed or cancelled nearly 50 domestic flights.

Many regional flights were delayed as well as some flights between the main centres.

One international flight was diverted to Wellington.

There was a brief respite after 7am when fog lifted for a short time but the weather deteriorated again before finally clearing.

The airport has been hit by fog numerous times this year.
