Dr Lim was found guilty earlier this year of 10 charges of stupefying five men to indecently assault them.

The charges related to assaults in cubicles and in a toilet at the practice, The Doctors, in Hastings, over about eight months in 2014.

At sentencing in the Napier District Court this morning Judge Geoff Rea said it was an extreme abuse of trust.

Judge Rea said the victims were defenceless and Dr Lim couldn't have carried out the offending unless he resorted to stupefying them, using his knowledge as a doctor.
