A 50-year-old Rotorua man has gone on trial in the High Court in Hamilton charged with attempting to murder a man in a road-rage incident in Rotorua 18 months ago.
Richard Marsters is accused of shooting a man three times with a high-powered air pistol.
The 33-year-old victim, who has name suppression, was hit twice in the face and once in the arm and had to undergo surgery.
The accused is also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon and causing grievous bodily harm.
