A person has died after their truck collided with a train in Whakatane this morning.
The crash happened on the level crossing on Lambert Road about 11.30am.
The driver of the truck died at the scene.
The intersection of Lambert Road and State Highway 34 is closed.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
