A rubbish collector has died after apparently falling from a rubbish truck and being run over.

Police say the accident happened just after 12.30pm on Alexandra Redoubt Road in Tuakau, south of Auckland.
A cordon is in place at the intersection with Roberts Rd.
Polce said the Serious Crash Unit was in attendance and WorkSafe NZ had been notified.
