Police will be keeping a strong presence in Central Christchurch today after three people were hospitalised after a fight.
The police were called early this morning to St Asaph Street near the intersection with Manchester Street shortly before 2:30am.
One person is in Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition and two others have moderate injuries.
Police said its possible a knife or some sort of weapon was used.
The police said a number of people were arrested at the scene but they're investigating.
They're asking anyone who was in the area last night to get in touch.
A cordon is in place around a St Asaph Street property and diversions are in place with traffic blocked from travelling west.
