A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder over the death of a Tauranga man.

Lance Wayne Waite, 58, was dropped at Tauranga Hospital's emergency department with critical injuries around 11.30am yesterday.
Detective Inspector Lewis Warner said he died in hospital a short time later.
He said their thoughts are with his whānau and friends.
Mr Warner said the police and Armed Offenders Squad were called out to an address on Ngatai Road in Otumoetai this morning which led to the arrest.
The accused will appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow.
The investigation is continuing and police are confident there is no risk to the public following the incident.
