The lanes on some motorway on-ramps can only be used by cars with two or more people in them but police have had numerous complaints about people ignoring the rules.

Police targeted the Papakura onramp in peak hour traffic this morning.

A spokesperson said between 7am and 8.30am this morning more than 100 tickets were issued and two cars were impounded from people with disqualified licences.
