Measles alert for Singapore Airlines flight to Akl

1:53 pm on 28 February 2018

Health authorities have issued a measles warning for people who arrived in Auckland on a Singapore Airlines flight almost a week ago.

Auckland Regional Public Health Service said passengers on flight SQ285 on 22 February may have been exposed to the highly infectious disease.

It said people in rows 31 to 49 were closest to the measles case and were at the highest risk, but anyone on the flight should watch out for symptoms.

They include fever, a runny nose, a cough and sore red eyes.

After a few days a red blotchy rash develops.

The symptoms could appear tomorrow or over the next eight days.

Anyone who is feeling unwell should see a doctor.
