Final rehearsal for Edinburgh-bound army band

8:38 pm on 23 July 2010

The New Zealand Army Band has had its final rehearsal in Christchurch before it flies to Scotland next week to perform in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

The band has been invited back as a main act for the third time and will perform in 26 shows in the Edinburgh Castle.

Bandmaster, Staff Sergeant Tristan Mitchell, says the band is honoured to represent the Defence Force and New Zealand overseas.

He says it performs a number of songs by popular artists, as well as an inspiring version of the haka.

All 31 band members will fly out on Tuesday.
