A second person involved in a crash while fleeing a police patrol in Christchurch has now died, becoming the tenth person to die in a police pursuit this year.
Tama Regan Dobson, who was 27-years-old, was driving a car that crashed into a power pole on Moorhouse Avenue on 10 July.
He died in hospital on Tuesday after a decision was made to turn off his life support.
A 26-year-old passenger in the car was also killed in the crash.
Police say their investigation into the crash is continuing.
A review of the pursuits policy has recommended changes to the way they are managed, including giving senior officers travelling as passengers in the patrol car the authority to call off a chase.
