The usual tourist route to the Bay of Islands will re-open this afternoon to 24-hour traffic.

It is now three months since State Highway 11 between Kawakawa and Paihia was closed by a huge slip.
But the traffic flows will operate as one-way for each side for a while yet, and bad weather could still close the road at short notice.
The winding highway has been open on a stop-go basis for the past three weeks, as contractors gradually stabilised the slip on Lemons Hill.
The Transport Agency said over-size vehicles would still have to use the detour route via Puketona Junction for now.
There will also be planned closures over the coming weeks as work crews finished the job of shoring up the hill.
