The driver of a logging truck is in a serious condition after his vehicle rolled on State Highway 1 north of Taupō.
Fire and emergency crews are working to free the man from the cab.
Police said the the accident happened at about 5.40am just north of Wairakei.
The road is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
