Police in Hong Kong have found the body of a missing Air New Zealand pilot.

Steve Morrissey, 51, disappeared on 4 August, while walking with a colleague on the Wilson Trail in the New Territories hill area.

Mr Morrissey's body was found in bushes 200 metres off the track on which he was walking.

Taipo police station's chief inspector, Maggie Sze, believes Mr Morrissey tried to take a short cut, lost his way, and collapsed from exhaustion as he tried to find his way out.

She says his wrist watch, camera and rucksack were all intact, and the police have ruled out foul play.

Mr Morrissey's body will be taken for a post mortem on Thursday.
