Police have laid charges against a woman following the death of a toddler in Waikato Hospital.
Eighteen-month-old Comfort Witeri-Thompson died in hospital on 24 July after an incident at a Tirau address.
Police have charged a woman, 24, with injuring with intent to injure and neglect of a child, but not in relation to her death.
The woman appeared in the Rotorua District Court this morning.
Police said further charges were likely as the investigation into the toddler's death continued.
