A man has died after a serious crash at Matatā in Bay of Plenty where a vehicle hit a powerpole.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 4.30pm.
State Highway 2 between Manawahe Road and Flax Road remains closed.
Diversions are in place and the Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
