State Highway One south of Whangārei will close for two nights next week for road repairs.
The Transport Agency say crews will be working at Oakleigh overnight on Sunday 28 October and Monday 29 October to rip up 200m of road and reseal it.
It's the first job in a summer work programme on the crash-prone stretch of highway.
The agency said detours would be in place -which would add about half an hour to the journey.
The highway will then be down to one lane for the first week of November, while the work is completed.
