Police have released the name of a 22-year-old man who died in a crash in Southland yesterday.

Jade Whatuira, of Orepuki, was found after his vehicle hit a fence and ran off State Highway 99 south of Jenkins Road.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the crash, which is believed to have happened after midnight on Labour Day.
Anyone who was in contact with Mr Whatuira on Sunday night is asked to contact Tuatapere Police.
