Almost 38,000 people attended the concert, with two-thirds of those from outside Dunedin, according to figures released today by the Dunedin City Council-owned Dunedin Venues.

Visitors to the city spent $14m.

Dunedin Venues chief executive Terry Davies said with American singer Shania Twain's upcoming show at the stadium, concerts were expected to contribute about $65m to the city's economy this year.

Seven concerts have been hosted in 2018, including three by singer Ed Sheeran over Easter weekend and a one-off concert by Pullitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar.
