City Vision pushes Auckland voter enrolment

The centre-left ticket hoping to control Auckland's super-city council has launched its campaign with a focus on boosting voter turnout.

City Vision fears that a turnout as low as the 40% who voted in the last Auckland local body elections would favour the centre-right.

Speaking at the campaign launch on Sunday, Labour Party leader Phil Goff urged workers to encourage enrolment for a turnout of about 60%.

City Vision is an established grouping organised by the Labour and Green Parties.
