Authorities are trying to find the owner of a truck after it caught powerlines that fell onto a car in Christchurch.
Emergency services had to block Kahu Road in Riccarton after the incident this afternoon.
The truck drove off leaving the lines on the car carrying two adults and a baby.
However emergency services managed to get the lines off the vehicle - which has since left the scene - and the road has reopened.
Fire and Emergency spokesperson Peter McGrail said police were trying to locate the truck driver.
Mr McGrail said the truck had a crane, or possibly a digger, on the back.
