The search for a 17-year-old boy swept off the rocks at Papanui Point near Raglan this afternoon has been suspended for the evening due to the conditions.

The police were called about 1.30pm today.
Search and Rescue, Coastguard, Surf Lifesaving and the Westpac rescue helicopter have all been helping with the search, which is expected to resume tomorrow.
