Police have launched a homicide inquiry after a three-month-old baby girl died in Porirua last week.

A post-mortem and scene examination revealed the baby died of non-accidental injuries on 13 November.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged, and will appear in the Porirua District Court on 20 November.
Police said they were working closely with the baby's family.
"This is a tragedy impacting on a large family group," police said.
Police say they are committed to supporting the family and providing answers to them.
