A Tauranga man has died after crashing a paraglider into Mt Maunganui this evening.
The police said the 48-year-old man crashed into the mountain at about 6.20pm, near the summit.
He died at the scene.
His body has been recovered from dense bush by emergency services.
The police are asking anyone who saw the crash to get in touch with Tauranga police.
